About
I'm James Meikle, founder of Meikle Consulting. I help organisations across government and regulated industries adopt emerging technology safely, from bayside Brisbane.
My background
I come from a defence force family, a navy brat, and I've spent more than three decades in technology. Over that time I've advised on cyber security and strategic architecture across many industry digital transformations that use emerging technologies. Today I work across multiple organisations to help them innovate safely, providing assurance along the way.
My focus is clear communication: cutting through complexity so leaders can understand the risks in front of them and act with confidence. I work where the stakes and the compliance bar are highest, in government and highly regulated industries such as superannuation, insurance and banking.
Beyond the day to day
I provide direct support and expertise to Australia's digital medical future. As a founding member of SparkedAU, I help develop FHIR standards for Australia alongside the CSIRO, the Australian Digital Health Agency, Telstra Health and others.
I stay active in Brisbane's cyber security community, volunteering on the crew at events including CrikeyCon and Realms of Cyber, supporting Cyber Champions, and contributing to Demystify Cyber, researching malware and cybercrime campaigns. I'm also a proud supporter of Defence veterans' mental health through Veteran Gaming Australia.
Outside of cyber security, I volunteered with St John Ambulance and the State Emergency Service.
